Job Introduction

A leading client in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an experienced Agriculture & Irrigation Engineers (Softscape & Irrigation / Shop Drawings) to join their landscape / civil works team. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in irrigation system design, preparation of shop drawings, site execution, and post-installation commissioning and maintenance. Gulf experience is highly advantageous.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, review and implement irrigation systems for softscape projects in accordance with client specifications and approved drawings.
• Prepare, review and coordinate irrigation and softscape shop drawings, layouts, sections and detailed drawings to match approved designs and authority requirements.
• Produce as-built drawings, material submittals, method statements, and other technical documentation for irrigation and softscape works.
• Oversee softscape activities including soil preparation, planting methods, and landscape maintenance strategies.
• Manage installation, re-installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Supervise planting, establishment and maintenance of all plant types used on site.
• Use AutoCAD, irrigation design software and engineering tools to create detailed drawings, calculate water demands, generate watering schedules and produce technical reports.
• Coordinate closely with landscape architects, consultants, contractors and project teams to secure timely approvals and smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure works are completed within approved timelines.
• Provide technical recommendations on irrigation materials, equipment selection and sustainable water management practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural / Irrigation Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in softscape and irrigation projects, including preparation of shop drawings and site execution.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, irrigation design software (e.g., Rain Bird, Hunter, HydroCAD or equivalent), and MS Office (Excel, Word, PDF).
• Solid knowledge of plant science, soil management, irrigation materials and equipment, and water demand calculations.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Experience working in the Gulf region is a strong advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and landscape drawings, specifications and authority requirements.
• Valid driving license preferred for site visits.
